There’s nothing much to talk about here, we like to keep our story much to ourselves (we’re both shy!). But we would like you to know that we are college sweethearts and it was indeed a long wait before we decided to start a new page in our book of lives.

How it all started

We met during our college days a few months before graduation so we can safely say that we are college sweethearts. It took a while to get to know each other and before we knew it, kami na. We continued to be best friends, and even through tough times, we still go back to each other. Maybe this is what you call soul mates, life isn’t just complete without the other one. =)

The Proposal

It was our trip to Caleruega Chapel for a phot-op that we ended up being engaged. I was so enthralled by the little chapel on the hill that I unconsciously – yes, unconsciously – told Bom that I wanted to get married there. The only thing that I remembered was I told him, “Gusto ko dito tayo ikasal.”, to which he replied, “Bakit sino’ng pakakasalan mo?”. He told it in a joking way, of course. But he said “sige” anyway. It was on our way home that I realized that I practically asked HIM to marry ME! Of course, I was dismayed at first, I was kind of hoping for a romantic surprise dinner and that’s when he’s going to give the ring but hey! We are a modern type of couple living in a modern time. Come to think of it, we’re unique because it was me who asked my man to marry me! Not too shabby, huh?

The Planning

We initially planned to get married sometime in December, but much to our disappointment, Caleruega is fully booked for the month of December. Because his family is flying in from Tacloban and New Zealand, we opted to go ahead with the plan and moved the date to November instead. It gave us about 5 months of preparation for the wedding and it seems like too much of a rush. Though the date don’t have much of a meaning to us, it does not matter anymore, we just wanted to get married. The rest of our preparation story can be found here.
